General Counselors
Camp Towanda is hiring General Counselors to work with children ages 7-17. General Counselors live with campers in a bunk or cabin and serve as the leader or assistant in a wide variety of daily activities and sports. General Counselors act like a big brother or sister to our campers for 7 weeks and help them navigate camp life as the ultimate role model. The specialty of a General Counselor is the kids!

Activity Specialists
Activity Specialists help teach groups of 20-40 campers at a time (boys and girls, ages 7-17) in their area of expertise. They are responsible for instructing different levels and abilities, from beginners to master classes with our more skilled campers and work closely with Department Heads and Program directors to execute lesson plans. Our athletic specialists are responsible for coaching intra camp games and intercamp leagues, including county-wide tournaments with other camps. This is a great opportunity for developing professionals to get hands on coaching and teaching experience with a wide variety of ages and abilities.

Group Leaders
As a Group Leader, you are in total charge of a group of 20-45 campers who live in several bunks. You also supervise 8-12 staff. You need to be resourceful with leadership experience and possess high quality motivational skills as a General Counselor. Planning and organizational skills are a key to success. Plus you need lots of stamina and energy!

Department Heads
Department Heads are highly skilled in a specific activity area and have excellent supervisory and organizational skills. Each department teaches boys and girl campers ages 7-17 throughout the day. Our campers are of different levels and abilities in each area. You will be responsible for creative programming, developing and executing lesson plans and working with our Leadership Team. You are also in charge of training the counselors and specialists to assist in your area. You need lots of creativity, stamina and energy!

Nurses
Our nurses are the heart of Towanda! We are looking for hard-working, nurturing and confident nurses to provide TLC and medical care for our campers ages 7-17. Work in a state of the art Health Center with Pediatric ER doctor, 8 nurses and nursing students. Enjoy a/c, wireless internet, private accommodations and beautiful camp facilities on your time off!

Kitchen and Maintenance Personnel
Areas covered by “KMP” Support Staff include working in the kitchen and dining hall, housekeeping, laundry, landscape and groundskeeping, repairs and maintenance, security and the office. All KMP report to the Food Service Director, Operations Director, Head Caretaker or the Boys or Girls Head Counselor. Support staff are important contributors to the success of Camp Towanda and should love to work with and be around children. In fact, we love our KMP to participate in our all camp evening activities! Room and board and all meals are provided. Assigned time off and use of wifi in designated areas.
